How to Lose That Weight After Pregnancy

So you just gave birth to a stunning baby boy or girl, how exciting! Hopefully motherhood is amazing and wonderful for you. Other than the new bundle of joy in your life, I bet your wondering how you’re going to get your body back into the shape it was before your pregnancy. It is pretty understandable that you would rather spend your time with your new baby then going to the gym everyday.

God knows how challenging it can be to lose pregnancy weight. There are ways you can lose pregnancy fat and spend time with your new child. Without having to neglect your new child, here are some way you can do to help lose that stubborn pregnancy fat.

The first step you can do is to control what you put into your body. As you know, post pregnancy is a roller coaster of emotions due to hormones. You will notice some changes about yourself after childbirth due to your hormones trying to stabilize. You will experience all these food cravings because of your change in hormones. You can’t pig out on ice cream and use the excuse your eating for two anymore. To control your cravings, you need to monitor that amount of sugar your taking in and stabilize it. Try eating often throughout the day and eating in small quantities. You have a greater chance at weight loss if you eat 5-6 small meals a day vs. the traditional 2-3 meals.

Second,not only is breast feeding good for your baby, it’s also good for you! You can lose more weight if you breast feed.  It’s hard to believe but there is a biological reason why you gain weight during pregnancy. When you breast feed, your body lactates and you need that extra fat. You can burn up to 500-700 calories a day just by breast feeding. Breast feeding is a great way to bond with your child and the greatest way to burn calories.

Third, you can go for a walk in your neighborhood with your new baby. Your neighbors and friends are probably all dying to see your new baby, so instead of having them come to visit you, why not get some exercise and put your child in a stroller and walk all over the neighborhood to show him or her off. Instead of having your friends and neighbors come over, put your baby in the stroller and go for a walk around the block to meet the neighborhood . Walking is a fast exercise to lose weight, it also help you deal with the stress of being a mother if you do this everyday.

Try to remember you  don’t have to rush to lose pregnancy fat fast. You’ve just had a baby, your body has been through a lot. Try to lose weight as safely and natural as you can, for your baby’s sake. Losing weight safely and naturally is a great way to have a healthy motherhood. Just be patient and soon you will be able to fit back into your skinny jeans again.
